The naval base in San Diego is seen from a sweeping bridge connecting mainland and peninsula south to Imperial Beach - a spit of land which runs along side the Pacific ocean.

Located on the Mexican border, San Diego city is a great visit boasting lots of worthwhile sights. Local to the area are Cowles Mountain, Black Mountain and Mount Soledad. Further East is desert where the Cuyamaca and Laguna Mountains dominate the skyline. These areas are great outdoor locations for walkers and hikers of all abilities.

Communities include Balboa Park, City Heights, Mission Valley, North Park and Hillcrest. North lies San Pasqual Valley, heavy on agriculture, along with Del Mar Heights and Carmel further west.

Just some of the great centres of education are - the University of California San Diego - UCSD, San Diego State University - SDSU, and City College. There are many other universities such as - The University of San Diego - USD, San Diego Christian College, Design Institute of San Diego - DISD, along with many others covering specific and varied disciplines.
