   Magna CartaKing JohnEnglish Common Law

Stephen Langton played a central role in the creation of Magna Carta. Langton identified in the Bible that a citizen From the mid sixth century, Lindisfarne – or Holy Island, was renowned
for work of exceptional standard. The famous Lindisfarne Gospel was an
early NT translational. Illustrative artwork added later dazzled scholars,
becoming widely regarded as outstanding.had the right to question a ruler, and that rulers are not beyond law.

At the time king John was seen as being crooked. The people of that time were demanding freedom, freedoms which were echoed in the Bible. Langton used the Coronation Charter, a document written in the previous century by king Henry I.

This document was rooted in Anglo Saxon heritage, itself closely associated with Biblical tradition.

In Langton's and king John's times, the then largely French barons had overthrown Anglo Saxon rule in England; dispossessed the people and stolen their land. The barons were not on the side of the people, and the Coronation Charter was about to come to their aid. It would play a vital role in the formation of Magna Carta.

Church of England split with Rome
Dissolution of the monasteries in England took place between 1536-40. Over 800 monasteries were closed during the reformation, but is it clear why? Officially we are told the pope would not grant king Henry VIII a divorce. However, there are other matters to consider; such as vatican ideas on doctrine, and widespread idolatry within the Romish system. Even now it would seem Catholicism venerates the mother before Jesus. Then as now perhaps just one more reason why England chose to break away.

I am ready, (Becket heroically cries) to die for my Lord,
that in my blood the Church may obtain liberty and peace.

              Thomas Becket
Mystery exists between Becket (12th century Archbishop of Canterbury) and Henry II. Their public argument regarding the administration of justice would later force Becket into exile, lead to his brutal murder; and likely shape the inspiration of those helping to compose Magna Carta.

Current Political Landscape
A brief overview of modern-day map of power.

Formally the League of Nations, the United Nations was formed in 1945.
It assumes authority on family values and the concept of right and wrong. The Unites States of America only gives Israel
$8m a day to assist them in the Middle East. Over the years, Westminster’s politicians have
gained a well deserved reputation regarding
their promises prior to being elected. Established sometime in the mid Twentieth Century,
the European Union is un-audited bureaucracy. Liberal
values and homogeneity remain firm policy directives. Vatican tradition stretches back over three millennia.
Present day interests range from astronomy to banking. Established in 1948, Israel works diligently
with the United Nations on such issues
as trying to create a world court. Queen Elizabeth I of England.
